Pick Faster from Farther Away with New Wearable Ring Scanner

In a busy distribution or fulfillment center, time is money. Every fraction of a second you can shave off of completing an order saves your organization money by improving labor efficiency and customer satisfaction. If your workers need to scan during their picking process, they probably consume valuable seconds per pick trying to get close enough to the barcode to scan it fully.

Honeywell’s latest addition to their productivity technology is the 8675i Wearable Scanner, a lightweight RF device worn on a worker’s finger that can scan barcodes up to 30 feet away* and includes an easy-to-replace battery capable of lasting through a 10-hour shift and 12,000 scans.

Long-range scanning is typically only possible with larger, bulkier scanning devices that require workers to take their eyes and hands off their products. The 8675i can improve productivity by allowing workers to reach taller barcodes safely while lift truck picking, pallet-jack material handling and more situations where users scan barcodes both near and far.

Optimized for ergonomics and perfect for fast-paced work environments, the 8675i was built to endure frequent bumps, sweat, indoor and outdoor locations, and extreme temperatures from a freezer or uncooled summertime warehouse – all without compromising battery life and durability.

Best of all, these wearable scanners can be deployed and integrated with Mountain Leverage’s voice systems for an adaptable Hands-Free, Eyes-Free™ solution.

To achieve 30 foot scans, barcodes should be printed larger than standard retail barcodes, such as location labels and license plate numbers. The expert design and implementation team at Mountain Leverage can help you determine the configuration to best meet your needs.
