Technology Curriculum Developer
The Curriculum Developer will create technical training courses, sales training, and developer-level training courses for a wide range of technology products and software. Materials will be needed for business partner, direct end-user training as well as train-the-trainer curriculum. The individual will work with the engineering project teams and other subject matter experts to scope, plan, and create training programs based on new and existing internal documentation, online help, and other materials. The Curriculum Developer will design and administer tests and evaluate test results to measure student comprehension. The individual will work with project teams to ensure that training deliverables are ready for product launch. The goal of the Curriculum Developer is to support team growth by ensuring that internal and external audiences are quickly and comprehensively trained to use both new and existing products.
Responsibilities:

Develop training curricula based upon functional specifications, online help and other documentation for both highly technical audiences and audiences with limited technical background

Develop training curricula based upon marketing input and for sales training courses

Update existing training materials throughout the life cycle of a product

Work with subject matter experts to define the requirements for certification

Create testing materials that accurately evaluate student comprehension

In conjunction with Product Management and Business Development, develop and implement evaluation tools

Participate in the research and assessment of remote training tools such as computer-based training or Web-based training

Evaluate the effectiveness of the training & certification programs and use evaluation data to revise training material, course content, and/or instructional methods

Carry out periodic reviews of the training material to ensure accuracy and relevance and direct the revision process as current products are updated or revised

Help to bridge the knowledge gap by coordinating the internal training on new products for all employees

Edit training materials for customer-specific details when appropriate

Coordinate course outline with various department managers when training new employees
Position Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
5+ years developing end-user and train-the-trainer training materials for audiences of varying technical levels; excellent writing and editing skills; advanced knowledge of various applications used for creating and editing documentation, including Microsoft Word, Google Docs, FrameMaker, RoboHelp (or similar web help and WinHelp generation tool), Adobe Acrobat and Macromedia Dreamweaver (or similar HTML generation tool); ability to adapt to evolving products and technology; experience in a high technology company. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently as the situation warrants.
Definite Pluses:

Experience as a trainer/educator for technical products, customer-focused approach, and a "get the job done" attitude is required.

In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, 802.11x wireless networks, DHCP, routing, and web-based computing principles as well as general networking concepts, protocols, and related diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.

Experience with web/application server technologies.

Experience in developing databases and/or database management.

Exposure to UNIX/Linux and cross-platform environments.

Experience with Windows XP/2000/NT/ setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Experience with warehouse management systems, warehouse operations, and wireless devices used in a warehouse environment.

Experience implementing hardware/software solutions at customer sites as well as performing customer support in the field.
